This can work with any soul integration process in which you are going back into a memory to create resolve and heal the root of a pattern you want to change.
I’m going to refer specifically to The Completion Process Created by Teal Swan. It’s a beyond awesome and powerful process. I used it to put myself back together. I highly recommend its use. Example of CP | Heal the Emotional Body
When I am doing parts work to start I do it differently than I would do it IN the re-experiencing the memory stage of CP.
Parts Work to Create Harmony: This type is more about creating understanding, conflict resolution, and integration. See My Parts Work Article.
Parts work in a Memory: When I encounter parts IN a memory I treat the parts as points of perspective that I want to FEEL into.
Say I go back into a memory and I find a number of fragmented parts.
I’ll follow the CP steps Until I hit resistance to either merging the different fragmented children OR if I encounter protector parts that stop the process.

Protector Parts in a Memory.
I go into them first because that is the path of least resistance.
Protector parts in a Memory can look like DEMONS or DEAD BODIES or Fog or really anything that feels off or resistant. OR sometimes they are abusing or hurting or controlling other parts. If there is a perpetrator in the scene the parts may be in that person’s heart or other body part. If the perpetrator is an actual Entity or animal or force (like say a tornado experience memory). A fragmented part may be in or a duplicate of that part,
I go into their perspective and bring awareness into them. Really feel into them and EXPERIENCE their perspective.
Working with Abusive Parts
If they are abusing another part, draw their awareness to how they are like the original abuser in the memory. This will often drop into futility and grief. That is a very hard emotion to feel into so buckle up and commit until you sink all the way through. You will not regret it.
After melting through an abusive part see how they relate to the other fragmented parts in the scene. Then work towards resolution and meeting needs.
Often Abusive parts heal when they are protected and allowed to rage at the original abuser.
Confusion, Fog, Numbness
If you can’t feel into something or are confused or foggy. FEEL INTO THAT sensation itself. It’s it’s own emotion that needs to be expreneces.
Often when CP “doesn’t work” it’s because people don’t realize that those tricky emotions need their own Vipassana.
Can’t Find Relief in Memory
If you try everything to meet the needs and follow the steps to work in a memory and you can’t get to a place of relief observe that there may be a protector part that is stopping the process.
Go into the protector part or the part being effected BY the protetor part and ask your subconscious “When is the first time this split was created” It will drop into an even earlier memory where you can meet the needs that created the part split.” Do CP on that earlier memory you will have WAY less resistance.
In general the BEST WAY TO DEAL with Resistance is to DROP DEEPER into the part. Go deep. Go beneath the resistance. MELT INTO the resistance.
